Zac Efron 'In the Best Place Ever' After Rehab

Zac Efron is out promoting his new comedy That Awkward Moment, but his response to a question about his reported stint in rehab last year was anything but awkward and the star took the opportunity to update fans on his condition.

"I know last year was a little bit hard -- there were reports that you'd gone through rehab," Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie asked during a segment Tuesday morning. "And I think mostly your fans just want to know how you're doing and that you're doing okay," she continued.

"Just that I'm in the best place I've ever been -- I've never been this happy before," Efron, 26, responded. "And I'm extraordinarily grateful for these guys (That Awkward Moment co-stars Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller)," he added. "And to be here promoting this movie, and... I don't know, things are good. Thank you for asking."

There was one slightly awkward moment during the interview when Guthrie asked the stars to explain what the title of the movie refers to. "I mean, I don't know... just..." Efron said, before Jordan interjected his belief that it means the moments when he's put on the spot by a girl. Teller then jokingly chimed in: "Like right now, we didn't prepare for these questions. These aren't the questions we rehearsed."
