ET has learned that a private funeral service is being planned for family and close friends of Philip Seymour Hoffman to take place in New York.
In lieu of flowers, Hoffman's family has requested that donations be made to The DreamYard Project and the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation -- two charities that Hoffman cherished.
A memorial service is also being planned for later this month in New York.
The late actor, born in Fairport, New York, was found dead on Sunday afternoon inside his New York City apartment after an apparent drug overdose. He was 46.
