Kanye West: North West Was Conceived in Florence

Looks like we now have a clue as to why Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are having their wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy!

Kanye gave a rare interview with Florence's La Nazione newspaper Friday, May 16, when he revealed that he believes his daughter North West was conceived in the ancient Italian city.

"I think that our daughter North was conceived here among the Renaissance masterpieces," he told the newspaper, via Us Weekly. "It was our first honeymoon. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world -- for me the most beautiful in Europe."

ET reported Thursday that Kanye, 36, and Kim, 33, will be getting married in Florence, Italy, despite multiple reports that the wedding ceremony will be held in Paris, France. On Friday, the Associated Press quoted a spokeswoman at the Florence mayor's office, who said that the couple will be married at the city's 16th-century Belvedere Fort on May 24. Located next to Florence's famed Boboli Gardens, the couple reportedly spent $410,000 to rent the venue.

Kanye is already currently in Florence, where he’s been studying with fashion designer Ermanno Scervino, and also working on some highly anticipated new music.

"I am composing a whole album, Made in Florence," the rapper dished.

He also revealed his romantic side in the new interview, as well as what he gave his fiancee Kim for Mother’s Day.

"I am a romantic: for Mother's Day I gave Kim a wall of flowers. Family is everything for me, the antidote to the pressure of fame," he said. "Family and creativity relax me. I am happy to create for my family."
