Actor Michael Jace -- perhaps best known for his role as Officer Julien on The Shield -- reportedly admitted to shooting his wife yesterday. Now, ET is digging up details of the case.
Police tell ET that Michael's wife April had just gotten back from baseball practice with their children before her life came to a tragic end.
"His wife pulled up. He walked over to his wife. They greeted each other. It looked great," said a neighbor. "They walked inside and that was it."
According to police, April was home for only home for about 10 to 15 minutes before she was shot several times with a handgun. Michael, 51, reportedly made the 9-1-1 call and waited for police to arrive. He was then taken into custody with his bail set at $1,000,000.
It is not clear whether the shooting was on purpose or accidental.
"He was arrested and booked for murder," said LAPD Detective Lyman Doster. "Right now, it's an isolated incident. The motive we're going with is domestic violence."
Detective Lyman told ET that prior to the incident neither Michael nor April had criminal records and neighbors described them as "the perfect couple."
While they seemed to keep up a positive appearance, records show that Michael filed for bankruptcy three years ago and listed debts between $500,000 - $1,000,000.
"When there's already an issue of domestic violence between a couple, financial hardship can certainly aggravate their problem," said former Los Angeles District Attorney Marcia Clark.
Michael last appeared on the small screen on the TNT crime drama Southland.
