The report, released by the National Transportation Safety Board and obtained by the AP, says that the driver in question, Kevin Roper, was driving at 65 mph at the time of the collision. The normal speed limit was reportedly 55 mph, but because of construction, signs advised drivers to slow down to 45 mph about a half-mile south of the accident, according to the report.
Morgan, who suffered multiple injuries including a broken leg, has been upgraded from critical to fair condition.
Roper was driving tractor-trailer for Wal-Mart when his vehicle collided with Morgan's limo van headed northbound on the New Jersey Turnpike on June 7.
Seven people were in the limo bus, and the two people in the front seat were fine. The five passengers in the backseat (including Morgan) were rushed to the hospital, but one of those five (comedian James McNair) was killed.
