Hello… is it spellcheck you're looking for?

On Sunday night, artist Lionel Richie was honored at the 13th annual BET Awards with the Lifetime Achievement awards. Unfortunately, someone was too preoccupied with Richie's luscious hair to spell his name right!

After multiple artists including John Legend, Pharrell Williams and Yolanda Adams took part in the ceremony, performing his songs and presenting the trophy to the soul legend, Richie took the stage to receive his award.

The caption placed a superfluous "T" in the legend's last name causing "Lionel Ritchie" to flash onscreen. The misspelled name soon started trending on Twitter, with the vast majority of people completely unaware of the error.

As of now, the 65-year-old legend has yet to respond to the BET blunder on his various social media sites. However, despite the gaffe, it was Richie's legacy and words that resonated that evening.
