LeBron James' decision to return to Cleveland has garnered varying reactions on social media, but Drake thinks King James deserves an ESPY.

While LeBron James' decision to return to Cleveland has garnered varying reactions on social media, rapper Drake seems to think that King James deserves an ESPY.

During a conference call with reporters on Friday, Drizzy admitted that he had probably been questioning his friend LeBron as much as the press in attempts to get clues as to where King James would be playing next season. Judging by his response, Drake was satisfied with the outcome.

"I think that if we could give out an award at the ESPYS for incredible essay writing, I would definitely love to present that to him," said Drake, who is hosting the upcoming award show. "I think it's going to be one of the most historic things of our generation."

Drake, a proud son of Toronto, called the move "courageous," saying, "I don't think there's a better way to deal with it than how he just did."

LeBron made his announcement via a first-person essay sent to SI.com on Friday.

"My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball," LeBron wrote. "I didn't realize that four years ago. I do now."

"I always believed that I'd return to Cleveland and finish my career there," LeBron continued. "I just didn't know when. After the season, free agency wasn't even a thought. But I have two boys and my wife, Savannah, is pregnant with a girl. I started thinking about what it would be like to raise my family in my hometown. I looked at other teams, but I wasn't going to leave Miami for anywhere except Cleveland. The more time passed, the more it felt right. This is what makes me happy."

The 2014 ESPYS will air Wednesday, July 16 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPNHD. CLICK HERE to vote!
