The 'Game of Thrones' theme song gets a new rendition from The Queen's Guard.

The Queen's Guard played their version of the Emmy-nominated HBO series Game of Thrones theme song. This happened during the changing of the Royal Guard at Buckingham Palace.

Household troops have guarded the Sovereign and the Royal Palaces since 1660.

According to the official website of the British Monarchy: "The Guard which mounts at Buckingham Palace is called The Queen’s Guard and is divided into two Detachments: the Buckingham Palace Detachment and the St. James’s Palace Detachment. These guard duties are normally provided by a battalion of the Household Division and occasionally by other infantry battalions or other units."

Changing the Guard is accompanied by a Guards band.

The website blurb continues: "The music played ranges from traditional military marches to songs from films and musicals and even familiar pop songs."

The Game of Thrones theme song made the cut because it's such popular theme song.

Other pop culture songs to have been played range from familiar tunes in movies such as High School Musical, Batman and James Bond.

The crowd was surprised to hear this tune, and we have to say we think they did a great job! What do you think about this royal version?
