"Tony Stewart -- there's no doubt that he is a passionate driver," said Ramsey Poston, president of Tuckahoe Strategies. "He's passionate about everything he does. I would really caution any not to draw any conclusion based on Tony's personality."

During a race at Motorsports Park in Central Square, New York on Saturday night, Ward, 20, climbed out of his car after he spun out in the middle of the race. Wearing a black fire suit, Ward seemed to be trying to confront Stewart. As the race was still going on, Stewart hit Ward with his car. Ward was pronounced dead at F.F. Thompson Hospital.

Following the incident, Stewart, who has not been charged with a crime, released this statement: "There aren't words to describe the sadness I feel about the accident that took the life of Kevin Ward Jr."
