That anaconda wants some. During Nicki Minaj’s Friday afternoon VMA rehearsal, a six-foot boa constrictor bit a backup dancer.

MTV reports that "the snake's handler was watching the entire performance and the woman was treated immediately by an on-site medic. The dancer was transported to a local hospital, according to the director of production safety for Viacom Media Networks Chris Velvin, out of 'an abundance of caution' though the wound was treated on site and it not life threatening."

When the snake bit the dancer, an alarmed Minaj uttered, "Did she get bit by the snake?" and immediately went to check on the dancer.

The snake was a 6-foot-long Dumerill's boa constrictor named "Rocky" who has been used in entertainment for 15 years, but Nicki and crew will reportedly use a different snake on Sunday as a result of the bite.

Anticipation for Minaj's headlining performance was already high before the snake bite. It looks like Nicki Minaj may be pulling a bit of a Britney. Spears famously cloaked herself in a serpent for her “I’m a Slave 4 U” performance back in 2001 (without incident). We can't wait to see what Nicki does to take it to the next level.
