Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama observed September 11 National Day of Service.

President Beyoncé. It has a nice ring to it. Commander-in-Chief Queen B. Chief Executive Mrs. Carter. Yaaaas. The Leader of the Free World Yoncé. BEYOTUS. Anyway, we digress...

A sixth grader at a charter school in Northeast Washington was disappointed yesterday when the school’s surprise guest was not Beyoncé—instead it was just, oh President Barack Obama.

Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama took part in the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance by helping stuff toys into backpacks for homeless children and assembling a playground at the Inspired Teaching School.

There, a sixth grader named Madison told President Obama that when she heard they were having a special guest, she hoped it would be Beyoncé. Via Daily News:

"I really wanted it to be," she said, "but then I realized it was gonna be you."

"Malia and Sasha would feel the same way," the President smiled.

Afterwards, Madison told Obama it was “even better” having him, to which Michelle joked, "I'd rather see Beyoncé.” (The unfair part is that Michelle Obama can see Beyoncé socially. Unlike Madison. And the rest of us.)
