Gordon- Levitt tweeted out this message for her.

The 33-year-old considers himself a feminist, and he made a video to spark the conversation on feminism.

In his video RE: Feminism, seen on the YouTube channel for his production company HitRecord, Gordon-Levitt explains what feminism means to him saying it means "your gender does not have to define who you are. That you can be whatever you want to be whoever you want to be regardless of your gender."

He also explains why he's calling himself a feminist and talks about the different viewpoints he discovered through his exploration of the issue. The issue is close to home for him because his mom taught him about it as she was an active participant in second-wave feminism.

He says, "So not only was feminism something that my mom taught me about, motherhood is right at the core of what feminism is or isn't…For me as a feminist, it should be up to the woman to decide if she wants to be a mom." He continues, "If that's what she wants to do full-time, that's awesome, that's what my mom did. But if she wants to go out and have a career apart from being a mom, then she should be able to do that as well, and that's to the benefit of everybody."

By the video's end, he is asking for you to tell him what feminism means to you, if you consider yourself a feminist, your opinions and ultimately, he wants to make a collaboration of the submitted voices in hopes of inspiring others.

Gordon-Levitt is not the only one who has been inspired to raise awareness to gender inequality.

Hollywood reacted today in the form of tweets to Emma Watson's campaign. Actors, singers, and journalists alike all shared her words.
