The long, protracted battle over the late radio star's remains continues.

The long, complicated saga of Casey Kasem's final resting place has taken another turn today as his daughter, Kerri Kasem, announced on Twitter that the funeral home in Oslo, Norway has refused to bury the late radio star.

Kerri began a petition in August that sought to collect signatures in an attempt to get Casey Kasem's widow Jean Kasem to "respect Casey's wishes," referring to his alleged request to be buried at Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles.

According to Kerri, the petition worked. "The funeral home in Norway refused to bury my Dad! Now, we are going to send letters and the Care2 petition to the hospital that is holding my father's body. We wanted 10,000 signatures and we more than doubled that. Thank you to everyone that signed and shared the petition."

The petition, in fact, received over 23,200 signatures since it was set up over two months ago.

The Top 40 star passed away in June in Gig Harbor, Washington, where the ill Kasem he had been moved by his wife Jean despite a court order remanding his care to his daughter. Kerri and her siblings from Kasem's previous marriage have been in a long and protracted legal battle with Jean, who they claim forbid them from seeing their father in the months leading up to his death.

It's unclear what this development will mean in relation to Jean Kasem's choices for the burial of her late husband.
