Renee Zellweger Is Now Completely Unrecognizable

Yes, this is really Renee Zellweger.

It's safe to say Renee Zellweger's looking a little different these days.

The 45-year-old actress made an appearance at ELLE's 21st Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration in Beverly Hills, Calif. Monday night, and her nearly unrecognizable appearance is shocking to say the least.

No, your eyes are not deceiving you -- this really is what the Bridget Jones' Diary star currently looks like.

Though many speculate that Renee's new look is the result of plastic surgery -- pointing to her completely wrinkle-free face -- she has never addressed the reports.

She has, however, commented on the criticism that she's too thin.

"When you read reports that you are starving yourself or that you are anorexic it's very unfair and disappointing," she told the U.K.'s Daily Express last November. "It's not very pleasant to read reports which say you've gone too far or this or that. I have a lifestyle that involves keeping my sanity by going to the gym."

But clearly, her fans weren't too happy with her new look on social media.

Renee has not been seen on the big-screen since 2010's My Own Love Song, but is set to make her return in the thriller The Whole Truth, out in 2015. The film, which also stars Keanu Reeves, is about a defense attorney working to get his teenage client acquitted of murdering his wealthy father.

There has also been much talk about a third Bridget Jones' Diary film, though Hugh Grant recently confirmed that he won't be involved.

"I decided not to do it," the 54-year-old actor told Free Radio in the West Midlands, "but I think they're going to go ahead and do it without Daniel. The book's excellent, by the way, but the script is completely different -- well, the script as I last saw it a few years ago."
