Jennifer Lawrence and her security team had quite the scare Wednesday night in New York City.

Following her hilarious take-over of The Late Show with David Letterman -- in which she endearingly sang out of tune and even took over the hosting desk -- Jennifer was abruptly rushed to her car in the middle of signing autographs when the barriers began to fall thanks to the excited crowds surging forward to get closer to her.

Video of the event shows Jennifer rushing inside the Ed Sullivan Theater in her red Antonio Berardi dress with a quick wave (to the dismay of some fans who loudly booed the Hunger Games star), before rushing over to greet a few fans post-show.

And that's when the scary incident ensues.

As Jennifer barely starts signing an autograph, her bodyguard rushes her out of what appears to be a chaotic situation, and the 24-year-old actress hastily gets inside her vehicle.

Though J.Law fans shouldn't rush to judge her -- she's been known to be extremely fan-friendly in the past, even crossing the security barrier last November at the London premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire to hug and take pictures with a little girl in a wheelchair.

Jennifer is hardly the first star to be involved in a scary security incident caught on tape -- in September, Kim Kardashian was tackled by notorious red carpet prankster Vitalii Seduik on the way to a Paris Fashion Week event.
