Robin Roberts quizzed Taylor Swift on her favorite Thanksgiving dishes for Robin's holiday special Thank You, America!, airing on Thanksgiving Day, and her answers aren't surprising -- but they are totally classic.

Favorite side dish? "Sweet potato casserole," Taylor tells Robin.

Stuffing or mashed potatoes? "Mashed potatoes."

Canned or homemade cranberry sauce? "Canned."

Pumpkin pie or sweet potato pie? "Pumpkin."

The special also pays tribute to unsung American heroes who have devoted themselves to helping others -- people like sanitation worker Arnold Harvey, who selflessly cashed in his 401k to create a food pantry for the homeless.

"Climbing in the truck with him -- going into his world and seeing what he does for us, it's one of those jobs we don't say thank you," Robin said through tears.

Robin jumped at the chance to show her gratitude to Arnold for the work he does.

"I have been looking forward to meeting you," Robin told Arnold. "It is my pleasure and I have to say in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought I'd come down her personally to say thank you."

"How many people see the homeless and step right over them?" Robin asked Arnold. "What is it about that situation and you that made you say I'm not going to look away?"

"It was one time I'd seen my kid out in the street," Arnold answered. "It just did something to my heart."

The special also features a special tribute to the men and women of The United States Armed Forces, many of whom are separated from their families during this time of year.

Viewers can also look forward to seeing Taylor Swift perform during CBS' broadcast of the 88th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The broadcast, airing from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., will be anchored by ET's Kevin Frazier and The Insider's Thea Andrews.
