When she was 8-years-old, Eden Whitson made the country artist a sign asking him for a hug. Fast forward 17 years later, and Brooks, 52, came out of retirement for a comeback tour and Whitson knew just what to do to make her dream come true.
Whitson reached out to Brooks through Facebook during his Q and A session on the site on Nov. 11 with a picture of her sign saying that she’s been "waiting for the day" to meet him and asked him for a hug at his St. Louis show.
Proving the power of social media, Brooks saw this and was able to sign that poster and give her the long awaited hug last week. He shared the heartwarming moment on Facebook with his fans.
She commented back on the post saying, 'BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!! Thank you Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and you AMAZING team for making this lifelong dream of mine come true!! The hype is real….Garth is the BEST!! Love you Garth!!"
Brooks is on tour with his wife and fellow country artist Trisha Yearwood. They'll kick off 2015 with more shows starting Jan. 9 in Tulsa.
