Serena Williams Looks Amazing as 'Vogue' Cover Girl, Talks Dating Nerves

Serena Williams stuns on the cover of Vogue.

Tennis champ Serena Williams makes for one beautiful Vogue cover girl.

The 33-year-old athlete covers the high-fashion magazine in a turquoise Rag & Bone sheath dress and minimal makeup for their April 2015 issue, letting her natural hair flow free. In the accompanying interview, Serena dishes on her legendary tennis career and her close friendship with her competitor Caroline Wozniacki.

Serena says that despite her tough appearance, she is in fact, very vulnerable in real-life.

"On the court, I am fierce!" she acknowledges. "I am mean and I am tough. I am completely opposite off the court. My confidence just isn’t the same. I wish I was more like I am on the court. Nobody would know that I am constantly crying or complaining."

She also has body issues just like the rest of us.

"I hated my arms," she admits about having to go to the gym when she first started competing professionally. "I wanted them to look soft."

Still, when it comes to tennis, Serena is all about focus.

"I am such a perfectionist, if I lose a game, I go crazy," she shares.

But there are downsides to being a constant champion.

"It's hard and lonely at the top," Serena admits. "That’s why it's so fun to have Caroline and my sister, too. You're a target when you're number one. Everyone wants to beat you. Everyone talks behind your back, and you get a lot more criticism. God forbid I lose. It's like 'Why?' Well, I am human."

Besides being fierce competitors, Serena and Caroline, both single, also give the magazine a taste of how they are during a night out on the town.

"I am really shy. I don't talk to guys," Serena, who once dated rapper Common, surprisingly says. "Friends? Yes. But a potential? No. I get nervous that I will say the wrong thing, and then I just start laughing."

"Serena travels with a big entourage," Caroline explains. "Some guys get intimidated by that. Both of our dream guys are out there, just waiting."

Serena is, however, far from desperate.

"I guess," she says, when asked about her desire to start a family and have children. "I'm not even looking for it."
