Anna Kendrick Is Upset That Mae Whitman's Role Was Re-Cast for 'Independence Day 2'

When it was announced that Mae Whitman would not be reprising her role as Patricia Whitmore -- the president's daughter -- in Independence Day 2, Anna took to Twitter to express her dismay.

The 29-year-old Pitch Perfect 2 star tweeted, "What the actual f**k? [Mae Whitman] is talented as hell, and JUST proved she can carry a film. Smh."

Mae originated the role in the 1996 massive hit film starring Will Smith, who is also not returning for the sequel. Mae's role in the new film will be played by 21-year-old It Follows actress Maika Monroe.

Anna is not alone in being upset about Mae's re-casting.

We mean, she was at least asked, right??

Not to mention she JUST starred in her own movie, The DUFF.

And according to The Hollywood Reporter, she wasn't even one of the final actresses considered?!
