Is Justin Bieber hoping to reconcile with Selena Gomez?!

Looks like Justin Bieber still has his ex Selena Gomez on his mind.

Justin and Selena both attended the 2015 Met Gala Monday night in New York City, and though the two didn't have a red carpet run in, Justin made sure everyone knew he was loving the "I Want You to Know" singer's sophisticated look.

In a video posted by TMZ, Justin gives his comments on his ex, even though he is unprompted.

"Hey, Selena looked gorgeous at the Met Ball!" he says as his car drives away.

According to E! News, Justin and Selena spent a lot of time in the same room together at Rihanna's star-studded afterparty, though the two only "exchanged some words." Instead, Justin "spent most of his night dancing and having a great time with his friends" -- including Kendall Jenner -- while Selena also stuck by her gal pals. Us Weekly reports Selena did tequila shots and danced with her Spring Breakers co-star Vanessa Hudgens throughout the night.

So is Selena -- who called the "Baby" singer her first love in an interview with V magazine in February -- so over their highly publicized on-again, off-again relationship?

It would appear so. According to Us Weekly, a source says Justin "tried very hard" to speak with his ex at the party, but that "their encounter was pretty short."

Last month, he admitted that Selena inspired a lot of music on his new album.

"I think a lot of my inspiration comes from [Selena]," he told Ryan Seacrest. "It was a long relationship that created heartbreak and created happiness and a lot of different emotions that I wanted to write about. There's a lot of that on this album."
