Meanwhile, Taylor looked combat-ready in a pair of army green short shorts, a black T-shirt reading "THIS IS MY FIGHT SONG" – a line from Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” – and a somewhat bizarre leather strap harness.
The 25-year-old 1989 singer wasn't strapped into a particularly stylish parachute or anything of that sort – the harness was simply a fashion choice. Or maybe she was expecting an insanely exciting day with her BFF that would require her to hold on tight… to herself.
Actually, that might not be too far off. Taylor later took to Tumblr to respond to people asking why she was wearing a harness – some accused her of wearing it backwards -- and she basically made everyone feel bad for ever questioning her decisions.
"I think you’re ignoring a really important point here… That my harness and I are always ready for a zip line/rock climbing," the seven-time GRAMMY winner wrote. "Ask yourself.. Are you ready for extreme adventure should it present itself? HARNESS LIFE 2015."
Now don’t you feel silly? Go buy yourself a harness in case you need to zip line to work next week.
Although no zip lining went down on the stars' lunch date, an eyewitness tells ET that the dynamic duo, who arrived at the restaurant together, dined for an hour and a half before sneaking out the back with their two bodyguards. But still, Taylor was ready for any adventure that might go down.
