Even though Joe Manganiello hasn't touched alcohol for over a decade, for him, the struggle never really ends.
The Magic Mike XXL star covers the July/August issue of Haute Living, where he opened up on what it takes to get through addiction.

"I battled with addiction at a young age and got to the other side of that," he said. "That's an ongoing battle."
These days, the actor is considering channeling his struggles into a new book, which will read more personal than his hilariously long-titled first work, "Evolution: The Cutting Edge Guide to Breaking Down Mental Walls and Building the Body You've Always Wanted."

"I think there's a story in there somewhere about trying to find my way through that and making it to where I am today," said Joe.
One thing that might help Joe get through is his engagement to Modern Family star Sofia Vergara. Even though they are possibly the most beautiful couple pairing time has ever known, Joe reveals that Sofia wasn't so sure they would work out early on.

"I said to her, 'If you need to be single, go do it and do it now if that's what you need to do,' and she didn't," he said. "She tried to stay away from actors and I tried to stay away from actresses as much as possible, because of the fear of being away from each other. What happened then was that we wound up in relationships with people who didn't understand us."
One thing Joe did put to bed is the idea that we'll ever see the couple on screen together.

"[Sofia's] fear is that we’d make the next Gigli," he said, regarding Ben Affleck's movie with his first ex Jennifer, J. Lo (Sorry, Ben Affleck).
