Nancy O'Dell Keeps 2015 Special Olympics Torch Alive with 'Glee' Star Lauren Potter

Nancy ran in Friday's Unified Relay with 'Glee's' Lauren Potter.

ET's very own Nancy O'Dell is serving as a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics this year!

Nancy participated in the World Summer Games' Unified Relay torch running ceremony on Friday as a Co-Captain, running in the final leg of the event with Glee actress Lauren Potter.

Nancy shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a sweet pic of her and Lauren which she captioned, "I am so honored and excited for tomorrow as I run in the #UnifiedRelay with my friend @thelaurenpotter Join me as we #PassTheFlame in the @SpecialOlympics."

Nancy has long been an outspoken advocate for Best Buddies International and the Special Olympics because of their tireless dedication to bringing joy, opportunity, respect and inclusion to all people.

The ET host opened up on Facebook recently, sharing a story about her Aunt Ellen who had Down Syndrome and was often not treated with respect and inclusion despite being a wonderful, loving person.

"Because of Best Buddies and the Special Olympics, others like my Aunt Ellen are thriving and living a very fulfilling life today. They're given job opportunities and the chance to develop wonderful friendships. And, with the Special Olympics, they are given a chance to compete with other athletes from all over the world," Nancy shared. "I am honored to be a Good Will Ambassador for the Special Olympics and a Co-Captain in the Unified Torch relay."

The 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games kick off July 25 in Los Angeles.
