The summer of heartbreak continues.

Jake Owen is the latest star to join the lonely hearts club, as he and his wife Lacey Buchanan are divorcing. The country singer made the announcement on his Twitter page on Friday.

"This is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life," he wrote. "We appreciate your support and privacy in this matter."

Accompanying the tweet is a photo of his official statement, which reads: "I wanted to let my fans know how much I've appreciated their support not only of my career, but my family as a whole. Sadly, Lacey and I have decided to end our marriage. We want to focus on our daughter Pearl and make sure that she has a beautiful life with loving parents. We appreciate you respecting our privacy during this time."

Owen and Buchanan wed on May 7, 2012, exactly one month after the singer popped the question live on-stage during a hometown show in Vero Beach, Florida. Six months later, on November 22, the couple welcomed a baby girl named Olive Pearl.

Owen opened up about fatherhood in a recent interview with ET while promoting his new single, "Real Life."

"Having a child now, there are times I look at her and times like takin' her fishin' or takin' her out on the boat -- when she grows up, that's what's gonna be real to her," he said. "She's gonna talk about the times she learned to fish with daddy or went out on the boat and learned how to surf, those are gonna be the things that are real to her. Just the daddy-daughter dates that we have together, that's a big deal not only to her I'm sure down the road, but it's a big deal to me right now."

Owen and Buchanan are the latest in a wave of stars to split this summer. Among the growing roster of bombshell divorces we're still reeling from: Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert; Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock; Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner; and Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale.
