"I was shocked!" Mitchell recalled of the moment that PLL executive producer Marlene King told her the identity of 'A'. "I was just like, 'How did you come up with this?!' After hearing it I was just like, 'Whoa! What goes on in your mind?' But it was so great."

Unlike Mitchell, who tried to remain in the dark for as long as possible, Bellisario made it a point to be one of the very first actors on the PLL set to know the truth about 'A'.

"I’m a very, very nosey person so I kind of made it my business to know," Bellisario confessed. "I got enough of the people in the writer’s room talking a long time ago to find out who 'A' was, so for me, it was fun to see how they’ve built up to it, and to get to watch the person who got to be the final performance as 'A' for all of this time."

Bellisario spilled that it was thrilling to watch this mysterious actor "really stretch their legs" as 'A' in Tuesday's summer finale. "They were just fantastic," she spilled. "I’m sorry I can’t be more specific, but that was the best part of this episode."

Besides the obvious question -- Who is A?! -- fans are dying to know if the highly anticipated answer will live up to the five-year wait. "I think some fans are going to be satisfied," Bellisario confirmed. "I don’t know if everyone can possibly be because it’s been five years of a mystery."

The actress continued, "We set ourselves up for an impossible task, but I do know that it’s a very good story. When the person is revealed, it does all make sense. It’s been a long time coming so I hope that fans will be satisfied and excited to see this chapter close and see the next chapter open up.

Mitchell is confident that Tuesday's hour will be fantastic for the fans. "I just knew right after reading it how happy the fans are going to be because it was worth the wait," she said. "It is definitely one of my favorites, if not my favorite episode."

"Everything clicked but in such a well-done way," Mitchell concluded. "It couldn't have been more perfect."
