Mel Gibson is denying he had any "physical contact whatsoever" with an Australian Daily Telegraph photographer on Sunday, who claims that he went on a profanity-laced tirade against her and "shoved" her in the back when she took a picture of the 59-year-old actor and his reported girlfriend, 24-year-old Rosalind Ross.
"Mr. Gibson and his friend were being harassed by this photographer and he asked her repeatedly to stop, which she did not," Gibson's rep told ET on Monday. "There was never any physical contact whatsoever and the story being told by her is a complete fabrication of the truth."
The photographer, Kristi Miller, described the alleged incident to the Daily Telegraph. "I took a photo of Mel and his girlfriend and when I turned around he shoved my back really hard ... It shocked me because I wasn’t expecting it. I don’t know if it was his hands or elbow," she said.

The alleged altercation happened outside of Palace Verona Cinema on Oxford St, where Gibson and Ross were pictured leaving. Surry Hills police confirmed they were investigating reports that a man “became involved in an altercation with a photographer outside a cinema on Oxford Street” at 6.20pm on Sunday, the Guardian reports.
"He was spitting in my face as he was yelling at me, calling me a dog, saying I’m not even a human being and I will go to hell," Miller said. "He swore and called me a c**t. It was non-stop, he didn’t even breathe."
Gibson and Ross, a champion equestrian vaulter and a screenwriter, have reportedly been dating for about a month. Her most recent screenwriting work includes penning the script for Lioness, an indie drama starring Ellen Page, which tells the true story of Lance Corporal Leslie Martz, a U.S. Marine who was stationed in Iraq. Aside from their Australia trip, Gibson and Ross also recently spent time together at his Costa Rica compound,People reports.
The two are also collaborating together on his new film, Hacksaw Ridge, according to the Daily Telegraph. The World War II drama, set for a 2016 release, stars Andrew Garfield.
Sunday's alleged incident is, of course, not the first time the Braveheart star has been in trouble with the law. His ex, Oksana Grigorieva, accused him of domestic violence in 2010, and later released tapes of the actor's alleged sexist and racist rant. He was also arrested for driving under the influence in 2006, and apologized for anti-Semitic comments against his arresting officer.

In May, ET caught up with Mad Max: Fury Road star Tom Hardy, who told us he saw a very different side of Gibson. "He was very pleasant actually," Hardy said about surprisingly making the Oscar-winning actor a bracelet.
