Jill Duggar Is Having Another Baby -- Just Not Her Own

The reality star is starting a new career as a midwife.

Another baby for the Dillard family? Not so fast.

After Derick Dillard tweeted on Friday that "exciting things are happening in our family," rumors started flying that another baby was on the way for him and his wife, Jill (Duggar) Dillard.

And there is a baby involved -- well, many babies -- but it’s not because the couple's 5-month-old son, Israel David, is getting a sibling just yet. The 26-year-old father announced on the family's website that his wife is officially a midwife.

"I am so proud of her for her diligence, perseverance, and hard work to see this long road through to its end and reaching her goal of becoming a CPM," Derick wrote on the family's website

According to Derick, Jill, 24, devoted "sleepless nights" to her studies and was even "on call for multiple births at a time."

"Jill has been very disciplined and sacrificed a lot to get to this point," he continued. "So much so that I don’t have the capacity within this brief blog post to give all the details to do it justice.

The next step for the certified stay-at-home mom? To put her midwifery skills to good use, which Derick says she'll do during their mission work in Central America. "Now begins the fruit of that labor," he said.

That mission work sparked controversy recently when the couple returned to Arkansas for a family vacation to attend the wedding of Jill’s cousin, Amy Duggar. The trip back to the United States left fans of the 19 Kids and Counting stars to wonder how their monetary donations were being distributed. See more in the video below.
