Bradley Cooper is interested in keeping things purely platonic with frequent co-star Jennifer Lawrence.
The 40-year-old actor appeared on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show on Wednesday, where he set the record straight on why he and the 25-year-old actress, who have appeared on the big screen together multiple times, have never dated.
"It just didn’t happen," said Cooper, clarifying that he and Lawrence would "never" sleep together. “It’s not the way we are together."
Cooper also admitted that his past reasoning -- that Lawrence was too young for him -- wasn't entirely true.
"I said that once on a red carpet just as a diffuse thing," said Cooper. "And then it became a thing because the girl I was seeing [23-year-old Suki Waterhouse] was as young as she was."

While they are not romantically involved, Cooper does have a deep respect for Lawrence, and supports her recent essay on the gender wage gap in Hollywood. The actor told ET last week that he agrees that the double standard is a problem.
"There's a double standard in the whole world, yeah, for sure. This is just one aspect," Cooper said. "Anytime there's a place where a voice can come out and be outspoken -- something Sienna [Miller] did, or Jennifer -- that's great. ... I think it is making a difference."
