“I recently had my third kid, and it just messed up everything that was my reality,” Mackie, 37, told the Los Angeles Times on Friday. “It just changes your entire perspective on the world. Even traveling is an issue now — I’ve got to buy five tickets!”
The star’s new outlook gave him a greater appreciation for what his parents experienced while he was growing up, considering he was one of six children.
“I always wondered why we never took vacations further than Florida or the Gulf Coast — it’s like, ‘Oh, because they couldn’t afford eight plane tickets, so you just put all the kids in the Lincoln and drive to Florida!’” he explained.
Mackie and his wife tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in December 2014.
The star will show off his funny bone in the comedy The Night After, which hits theatres Nov. 20, but this isn’t the first time he had us in stitches.
