"I wish it didn't happen. I wish this that all this wasn't happening," Stefani said. "But at the same time, I feel like it was part of my life journey."
The 46-year-old singer admitted that there are "so many bad things" about her divorce from Rossdale, but she still has "got a lot of joy right now" about her second chance at love.
Stefani also opened up about looking back at some of her past songs, and realizing that a few of them should have informed her about her struggling relationship with Rossdale.

"Because of my situation right now… I feel like I go back and listen to a lot of that stuff and I'm, like, I get sick," the mother-of-three shared. "You look at the songs and go, 'That was a red flag!'"
Her new music, however, might be one of the biggest upsides to her breakup. Stefani, who just released a new ballad titled "Used to Love", shared that heartache has always lead her to making some great music.
"In my life, I've had two really bad heartbreaks and I've written some really incredible music out of it," Stefani said. "I feel so lucky to have that, and to be able to share it."
