Nadia Mejia was recently crowned Miss California USA 2016, and it turns out she's no stranger to the cameras. Nadia is actually the 19-year-old daughter of '90s rapper Gerardo, best known for his 1990 hit, "Rico Suave." Nadia appeared in last year's short-lived VH1 series, Suave Says -- along with her siblings, Jaden and Bianca -- which followed Gerardo's life these days as an A&R record executive turned youth pastor.
Clearly, Nadia is also following in the footsteps of her mother, Kathy Mejia. Kathy is a former beauty queen, who was crowned Miss West Virginia USA in 1989.
The Mejia family also appeared on an episode of ABC's Celebrity Wife Swap in 2013, when Kathy swapped households with "Thong Song" singer Sisqo's girlfriend, Elizabeth Pham.
Nadia's big win means she will get to compete in the upcoming 2016 Miss USA Pageant. Meanwhile, the gorgeous beauty queen has already carved out a career in the limelight for herself through modeling and singing. Check her out covering Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself."
"She is the reason why I wear hats. She has taken every last bit of hair," Gerardo previously joked on VH1 about his model daughter, who was known as the outspoken child in the family. "She's put me through so much as a dad, but I love her."
