Just two days after the former Bachelor star and his wife, Catherine, announced they were expecting their first child together, Sean penned a sweet message on his blog expressing his thoughts about becoming a father. While he'll no doubt feel blessed no matter what the gender of their baby is, he "secretly" has a preference.
"Like most guys, I'm secretly rooting for a boy," he reveals, "but I know that if we have a girl, she will have me wrapped around her little finger from day one." He also shared that wish on Instagram, captioning a pic of Catherine and their two dogs, Ellie and Lola, "A perfect day with my girls (and possibly a boy.)"
Jokes aside, he cannot wait for the first sweet moments he'll get to share with their bundle of joy. "I think the thing I'm looking forward to most is having the little boy or girl fall asleep on my chest for the first time," he says. "Sounds sweet right?"
Sean, who frequently talks about his and Catherine's "unhealthy obsession" with their dogs on social media, can't wait for his furry friends to get to know the baby, too.
"We're hoping they have that innate sense to protect the baby and love the baby," he shares. "Catherine says she just wants to see our boxer Lola snort (which she does constantly) in the baby's face."
Sean has never been shy when it comes to gushing over his wife, who he proposed to in the season 17 finale of The Bachelor. "I cannot wait to see Catherine as mom," he writes. "I've never met anyone who loves harder than my life. This baby is going to have a mother who will love her with every ounce of her heart."
So what kind of dad does Sean hope to be? "I hope I'm half the father my dad is," he reveals. "My dad has shown me how to be a loving, fun, Godly father and now I have the responsibility of being the same kind of dad to my son or daughter." Around the same time he published his blog, he also shared a fitting throwback photo of him with his dad and grandfather to Instagram.
"These men have taught me how to chase after God's heart and how to be a loving father," the caption reads.
By the looks of Catherine's most recent Instagram post, Sean is already shaping up to be the world's No. 1 dad.
