The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their two adorable children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, posed for the family's annual Christmas photo.

"A new family photo - Merry Christmas from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte," the Kensington Palace tweeted on Friday morning.

This is Charlotte's first Christmas and she's already a natural in front of the camera. Kate Middleton and Prince William's 7-month-old daughter gives a sweet smile as she sits on her mother's lap.

Meanwhile, Prince George can't seem to stay still for one photo. The energetic 2-year-old is the only one in his family standing, showcasing his preppy style.

The royals also announced that the little prince will be heading off to school. "Prince George will begin to attend the Westacre Montessori School Nursery in Norfolk before the end of January," the palace tweeted. The facility said they are "looking forward to welcoming George to our nursery where he will get the same special experience as all of our children."

Prince George is certainly excited for Christmas. "I think George will be extremely bouncy this year because he's suddenly worked out what Christmas is all about," Prince William told the Big Issue. "If I get any sleep on Christmas Eve it'll be good."

He added, "So that will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging, but I'm looking forward to it."
