After hitting the road earlier this year, Janet Jackson is being forced to postpone her Unbreakable World Tour.

The "No Sleep" singer took to social media on Thursday to break the news to fans.

"I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon," the 49-year-old icon wrote. "It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced. Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time. There will be no further comment. I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon' b alright."

She followed up the news with a holiday message, "Wishing you light, love, health and happiness this holiday season! Love, Janet."

Janet kicked off her world tour in Vancouver, Canada on Aug. 31 and has been touring through November. After a break for over the holidays, she was set to pick back up on Jan. 9 in Denver, Colorado.

Prior to her first U.S. date, Janet went against the advice of her doctors to go on with the show and totally delivered.

"It was a nonstop dance party,” an eyewitness told ET. "She is back as the Queen of Pop. She hasn't lost a step."

However, she was forced to postpone two dates in October due to doctor’s orders.
