Does Tom Cruise still have a need for speed?

It certainly looks that way seeing how producer Jerry Bruckheimer teased Top Gun fans -- yet again -- about a possible sequel to the 1986 blockbuster with a Twitter pic of him and the Mission: Impossible star. "Just got back from a weekend in New Orleans to see my old friend @TomCruise and discuss a little Top Gun 2," Bruckheimer captioned the photo.

Tom Cruise retweeted the picture, fueling speculation that the actor will likely have significant involvement with the project, which is currently in development.

Cruise filmed the original movie back in 1985, when ET joined the actor -- then just 23 years old -- who revealed that he was didn't mind being in the public eye.

"It doesn't bother me at all. I don't resent it. I'm not tortured at night by it," Cruise shared at the time. "Actually, I'm very happy people think enough of my work to feel that way."
