In an Instagram post on Wednesday, exactly one month after Bowie lost his battle with cancer, Iman quoted the writer Rune Lazuli: "Each tear is a poet, a healer, a teacher."

This message follows one the 60-year-old model posted three days prior, which read, "Pray hardest when it is hardest to pray."
Bowie had privately been fighting liver cancer for a year and a half before his death last month at age 69.

"The struggle is real, but so is God," Iman posted after the "Blackstar" singer died.
Iman and Bowie tied the knot in 1992 after first meeting in 1990. They share one child together -- 15-year-old daughter Alexandria.
