The Late Show host was left speechless on Tuesday when guest Helen Mirren opted out of the traditional hug and a handshake and, instead, went in for a kiss on the lips.
"If I didn't do it then, I'd never get to do it," the 70-year-old actress explained as the audience erupted in applause. "I have been dreaming about doing that for 15 years. So, I just grabbed my chance."
"I suddenly can't remember any questions," Colbert quipped back.

The 51-year-old comedian practically blushed as he regained his composure. "That's one of the nicest greetings any guest has ever given me. You know what you're doing," he said. "Thank you so much for being here. Can you imagine the number of people who are jealous of me right now?"
"Including me!" the Oscar winner said. "When I watch it, I'll be going, 'Why didn't I do more?'"
