The former Alaska governor and her husband opened up about her daughter Bristol Palin's surprise wedding -- to her on-again off-again beau Dakota Meyer -- via Facebook on Wednesday, reflecting on the family's ups and downs from the past year.
"All our families' hearts are filled with love for Dakota, Bristol, Tripp, and Sailor Grace. It's been a rewarding and interesting ride this past year - but these two sure do love an adventure!" the 52-year-old politician wrote. "As their biggest supporters, we're stratospherically happy it's happened, amidst running a little late! Like they said, the foundation of their new life together is built with hard work and God's grace, so they can't go wrong - their future is as bright as Alaska's midnight sun."

On Wednesday, ET exclusively confirmed 25-year-old Bristol's nuptials to Dakota, 27, who is the father of her 5-month-old daughter, Sailor Grace.
"Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you'll end up where you're supposed to be," the couple told ET. "We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married!"

"Hard work and God's grace are the foundation of our new life together, and with the love and support of our family we know we can get through anything," they added.
