Tyga is speaking up about his recent breakup from Kylie Jenner -- saying that his music career suffered because of their relationship.

The 26-year-old rapper opened up in a recent radio interview with Big Boy, where he shut down rumors of a relationship with Kylie lookalike Demi Rose, and announced his single status.

EXCLUSIVE: Kylie Jenner Still Isn't Over Tyga, Not 'Serious' About Rapper PartyNextDoor

"I'm single. I'm enjoying life," the rapper declared when Big Boy prodded about his relationship status, before revealing how he felt his musical talents were "overshadowed" by his relationship with Jenner, 18.

"When you're in a very public relationship like that, it's hard for other people to see you differently than that, you know what I mean? And being in that, it just took a lot form me, you know, career-wise," the rapper explained. "It overshadowed a lot of my talent, and a lot of things that I worked hard for."

Tyga revealed the breakup was a mutual decision, and the two still respect each other -- leaving the door open for a reconciliation in the future.

"I think it just got to the point where it was like, you know, 'I respect you, you respect me,' and you know...maybe later on in life, maybe we might come back, you know what I'm saying? But right now I want to focus on what I want to do."

"I think it's just a mutual thing...Like, this is what needs to happen," Tyga elaborated. "Because when something is so damaged, or something is just not right, like you can't fix it in the moment. The only thing is time."

The rapper admitted the constant media attention took a toll on their relationship, and that Kylie's age may have been a factor in why they didn't work out. The rapper also stated that post-breakup, he's looking forward to taking time for himself.

"And I think for her, as well...she's young," Tyga said. "And when you're young, you're going to make mistakes and kind of all of those mistakes are going to be in the public eye, so it puts a lot of strain on that relationship, you know what I mean?"

"That's why for me, I just wanted to focus on like my career," he explained. "I've done so much stuff over the last couple years...I just wanted to get back to me."

The "Ride Out" rapper also opened up about Jenner's brother, Rob Kardashian, and his engagement to Blac Chyna, with whom Tyga has a 3-year-old son, King Cairo. While Tyga agreed that the whole situation was "wild," at this point, he just wants people to let it go.

"People gotta let her move on," he stated, declaring there's no jealousy on his end. "It's not my life anymore. Like, when you're not with that person, what ever that person does after you, that's [their] life, and that's [their] decision. That's [their] bed they gotta lay in."

The rapper is instead choosing to focus on the positives that came out of his relationship with Chyna: their son. "That's life, that's love," he said. "People can decide to love whoever they want. I had a child with her, because that's where I was at that point in my life."
