The 40-year-old actress took her son, Deacon Phillippe, on a special hiking trip in British Columbia, documenting their exploration on social media every step of the way.

"Let's do this!" she captioned an adorable snap of herself and 12-year-old Deacon pre-hike, posted to Instagram on Tuesday. "Into the wilderness we go …. #StayWILD #HikingTrip."
Witherspoon's mother-son bonding trip started a couple of days ago.
"And we're off ✈," she wrote on Instagram, along with a cute pic of the two of them gearing up for their trip. "Our adventure into the wilderness begins!"
The Oscar winner showed off their gorgeous view on Instagram.

Deacon is definitely growing up, and looking more and more like his famous mama every day.
Witherspoon and her family celebrated Deacon's graduation last month, and couldn't be more proud as he heads off to junior high.
