As only she can do, the singer puts a sexy twist on Marie Antoinette's iconic style for the latest issue of CR Fashion Book, out Sept. 15. One cover has Rihanna grabbing her bare breast while donning a pale pink dress jacket and a diamond necklace fit for a royal. On another cover, RiRi -- dressed in a pink corset, crimson choker and matching mini hoop skirt -- puffs on a huge cigar.
Terry Richardson shot the racy photos and Carine Roitfeld styled Rihanna. "Looking at the life and times of Marie Antoinette, we begin to see parallels between her and the female celebrities of today. Who besides our modern pop stars are followed with more obsession and desire?" writer Ray Siegel asks while explaining the thought process behind the images. "Rihanna is beloved while Marie Antoinette was not, but she shares with the Queen an unapologetic attitude that inspires and fascinates. She says what she wants, smokes what she wants, and wears what she wants, making her an icon of authenticity in an era of calculated, pre-baked fame."
Rihanna also made a more permanent style choice when she got a tattoo of a camouflage shark, which just so happens to be a nod to the stuffed animal that Drake bought for her during a romantic date last month, a source told ET. Check out the sweet ink:
