The 36-year-old actress waited until August to share the news that she was expecting.

The Southside With You star has welcomed her first child, a baby girl, ET confirms.
Sumpter first hinted at the big news on Twitter on Monday.
"Dear Mom's, dad's and caretakers, I'm slow clapping for each and every one of you," she wrote. "It ain't no joke."
The Haves and the Have Nots actress waited until August to share the news of her pregnancy, even keeping the news from some of her closest friends.
"She's my first child, and I wanted to experience every moment of this pregnancy for myself and enjoy it without everybody else being in it with me," she explained to Fit Pregnancy and Baby last month. "Until recently, you couldn't tell if I was pregnant or had a little beer belly!"
"I didn't want to hear, 'Who's the dad?'" added Sumpter. "Social media can be harsh, and I'm a mama bear, protective of my family. So that's why I waited to tell people, including some of my friends. My friends weren't mad at me. They said, 'You did it the way you wanted to do it. You're an inspiration.'"
ET caught up with the actress in August, where she revealed that Michelle Obama has been an inspiration to her, and called her portrayal of the first lady in Southside With You a "gift to my daughter."
"I just feel like the world has shifted so much," she shared. "I feel like we're in the forefront right now and we’re so in control of our destiny. This is like a gift to my daughter. You can really do anything you want to do and be great at it."
