Joshua Jackson isn't exactly having the easiest time dating again after being in a long-term relationship.

The 38-year-old Affair star and actress Diane Kruger split in July after 10 years together, and during his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing Tuesday, Jackson admits that the dating scene is pretty different these days.

"Things have changed a little bit since the last time I was single," Jackson says. "I mean, everything's in your phone now. There's no more talking to people anymore. You talk to somebody and they're like, 'Oh, no no no, we don’t do that anymore.'"

"It's been quite a big change," he acknowledges.

Still, the handsome actor has a sense of humor about his situation, joking, "What would my Match.com profile be?"

... Of course, DeGeneres had a few hilarious throwback pictures in mind!

Jackson also talks about a possible Dawson's Creek reunion given the popularity of revivals Fuller House and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, though he sees a few issues with the concept.

"One, we killed Michelle [Williams] at the end of the season," he notes, adding, "the other thing is, it's been a very long time, and I think for anyone who was a fan of Dawson's to actually see the four of us on camera again, might be a little bit shocking and kind of heartbreaking. Like, we're not cute kids anymore."

Although, some would argue that the original cast -- which aside from Jackson includes Katie Holmes, James Van Der Beek and Michelle Williams -- looks even better now than they did when the show started in 1998.

"We're holding up OK, but I think if you put the four of us now next to the four of then, it might be a little shocking," Jackson insists.

Jackson had similar comments when The Insider chatted with him in January. "People always forget that Michelle Williams' Jen character was killed off, so they really need to figure out a way around that," he explained. "I guess she could come back as a ghost, or they could do it like Dallas did and have someone wake up and find her alive in the shower 20 years later. That could work!"

But interest in the beloved WB show remains strong. Just last week, 37-year-old Holmes was also asked about a potential Dawson's Creek reunion during her appearance on Good Morning America. "I don't think we're going to do a reunion," she said. "We did grow up, but we see each other every now and then, and I think that the charm of the show was [creator] Kevin Williamson's writing and it was of that time. And it gave teenagers this voice. It was a very, very special time… a special show. And I loved every minute of it."

Last August, Jackson joked to ET that he wants all Dawson's Creek reruns to be off the air before he has kids. "I'm glad all my awkward teen years are preserved for all time," he cracked.
