The family man shared several photos from his time spent with loved ones.

Joe Simpson is counting his blessings this holiday season.

After recovering from a surgery last month after being diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year, the father of Ashlee and Jessica Simpson was happy to spend Christmas with loved ones.

"Hangin' at Jessica's for Christmas.... so thankful for my many blessings.... #christmas #christmastree #love," he captioned a photo of his oldest daughter's tree.

Joe then shared a photo of himself and Jessica in their holiday pajamas, writing: "Got all dressed up for Christmas!!"

He also posted some photos of his grandchildren, Maxwell, 4, and Ace, 3, playing with their new cameras. "Maxwell is ready to become a photographer like PaPaJoe," he gushed. "And Ace is right there with her. The newest fashion photographers start young."

Jessica's children may also have a career in front of the camera. Maxwell posed for a photo taken by her grandfather, and her doting mother posted the pic to Instagram. "My beautiful Maxwell," she wrote.

After news broke of his cancer scare, Joe was overwhelmed with support from his Instagram followers. "This is a blessing in disguise for Joe," a source close to Joe told ET at the time. "It has opened his eyes to eating healthier and exercising. This diagnosis has brought Joe and his family together and reminded him that what matters most is family."
