'Everybody Hates Chris' Actor and Comedian Ricky Harris Dies at 54

Snoop Dogg and other stars paid tribute to Ricky Harris after it was confirmed that the actor and comedian died on Monday at age 54.

A cause of death has not officially been confirmed but Harris' manager, Cindy Ambers, told the Los Angeles Times that he suffered a heart attack two years ago. Harris grew up with Snoop Dogg in Long Beach, California, and the two sang together in church.

He is perhaps best known for his recurring role in Chris Rock's sitcom Everybody Hates Chris and his role in the 1993 drama, Poetic Justice, which starred Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur. He also voiced numerous characters on hip hop albums, including several by Snoop Dogg.

The 45-year-old rapper remembered his friend by sharing some of these videos on Instagram. "C u when I get there like we used to do in church on the east side," Snoop Dogg wrote. "Tell Nate to hold my note."

Comedian Cedric the Entertainer also remembered Harris, tweeting: "Devastated!!! #RIP to the One and Only #RickyHarris Always been a super solid dude."

Harris is survived by his mother, his ex-wife and two daughters.
