George Michael's Boyfriend Reveals Singer Died Alone, Was 'Looking Forward' to Christmas

George Michael's boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, is revealing more details on the death of the beloved pop icon.

Fawaz -- who found the 53-year-old singer's dead body in his country home in England on Christmas -- says in a new interview that he and Michael had plans to go out for Christmas lunch before he made the heartbreaking discovery.

"We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed," Fawaz tells The Daily Telegraph. "We don't know what happened yet."

"Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I," he adds. "Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was -- he was a beautiful person."

Fawaz, a celebrity hairstylist, and Michael had been romantically linked for the past few years. On Monday, Fawaz tweeted that he would "never stop missing" his partner.

"ITs a xmas i will never forget finding your partner dead peacefully in bed first thing in the morning.. I will never stop missing you xx," he tweeted.

Michael died of heart failure on Sunday. His U.S. manager confirmed to ET that the "Faith" singer had not been ill.

ET spoke with the British singer throughout his legendary career, and in 1986, he memorably told us that his band Wham!'s fame would last "as long as we remain sane human beings."
