Angelina Jolie and Kids Spent New Year Holiday in Colorado -- No Sign of Brad Pitt

Amid custody disputes with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie rang in the New Year with her kids in the snowy mountains.

A source tells ET that Jolie and her six children -- Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8 -- celebrated the holiday weekend in a private home in Crested Butte, Colorado.

While there was no sign of Pitt, the 41-year-old actress and her brood arrived last Tuesday via a private jet and have been spotted hitting the slopes while outfitted in Burton activewear.

Jolie was also spotted out in her winter gear sporting a giant grin as the snow came down in Colorado. 

The winter getaway comes on the heels of the 53-year-old actor's request to have divorce documents sealed pertaining to the estranged couple's ongoing custody battle. Pitt slammed Jolie, accusing his ex of disregarding their children's "privacy rights when she believes it may benefit her," claiming that she "apparently has no self-regulation mechanism to preclude sensitive information from being placed in the public record."

The World War Z actor filed the motion "because he wants to keep this custody battle out of the public eye to protect his children," according to another source.

Despite Pitt's absence from the Maleficent actress' New Year plans, he did get to spend part of Christmas with the kids during a reported meeting with the children's therapist. A source tells ET that "when Brad sees the kids is determined by the therapist and children together and not by Brad or Angelina themselves."

Another source tells ET that the meeting was set up by the therapist and the children, adding that Jolie was not present for it -- only Pitt, the kids and their therapist. The source also notes that the tabloid reports alleging that the actress was "furious" over the holiday meeting are completely false.
