I'm so thankful for this new chapter in my life!"
The musician was struck by tragedy weeks before auditioning for Idol in 2008, when his first wife, Sophia Martinez, died from congenital heart disease. Despite the heartbreaking loss, Gokey persevered through the singing competition show, placing third behind Adam Lambert and Idol winner, Kris Allen.

Gokey, 36, and Peralta, 30, wed in 2012, and are already parents to 3-year-old son, Daniel Emanuel, and 2-year-old daughter, Victoria Isabella.
Aside from the baby news, Gokey is celebrating the release of his fifth studio album, Rise, which is out now.
