Jemima Kirke is having a moment of reflection.

The 31-year-old actress, who catapulted to fame thanks to her role in HBO's hit show, Girls, says her separation from husband Michael Mosberg was unfortunately caused by her professional career.

"I got divorced and I attribute that to acting. And just asking myself, 'Is this really me?'" Kirke tells ES Magazine.

"So much of my life has been about reaction, just following the flow rather than making a strong choice," she continues. "In acting you are always asking yourself why you do things, why you make the choices you make. Everything means something. And so then you start looking at your own life in that way."

"I've learnt a lot more about myself and started to figure out what I really want," she added.

After seven years of marriage, Kirke split from Mosberg in January. The former couple has two children together, 6-year-old daughter Rafaella Israel and 4-year-old son Memphis.

The final season of Girls premieres on Feb. 12 at 10/9c on HBO.
