The 56-year-old actress looked like she had aged decades when she showed up to film Suspiria in Berlin, Germany, this week. Swinton was most definitely in the makeup chair for a while as she looked unrecognizable with wrinkles all over her face.
As for her outfit, she was dressed in a big coat that she put over a collared shirt and tie, which she paired with thick-rimmed glasses and a black beanie.
According to IMDB, Swinton portrays Madam Blanc in the movie that also stars Dakota Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz and Mia Goth. Suspiria -- directed by Luca Guadagnino -- is about a young American woman named Susie Bannion (Johnson), who travels to the prestigious Markos Tanz Company in Berlin in 1977, and arrives just as one of its members, Patricia (Moretz), has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. As Susie looks into the woman's whereabouts under the guidance of Madame Blanc, the company's revolutionary artistic director, she befriends another dancer, Sara (Goth), who shares her suspicions that the matrons, and the company itself, could be harboring a dark secret.
This isn't the first time Swinton has undergone a major transformation for a role. In Amy Schumer's 2015 comedy, Trainwreck, she played the very tan, very glam magazine editor Dianna, which was a far cry from the sleek, androgynous look the actress' fans are used to seeing.
